My Finished Bunny Pinch Pot!

The Secret World of Arrietty

The Secret World of Arrietty is about a very small girl who lives a life under the large world of the "Beings."  Her people are called borrowers, because they borrow things that people won't miss.  One day a boy, named Shawn, finds Arrietty, and they becomes friends, even though they aren't suppose to.   The boy's maid takes Arrietty's mom to show that borrowers exist.  Together Shawn and Arrietty rescue her mom.  At the end, Arrietty and her family have to move away, because Shawn have seen Arrietty and knows the secret about borrowers.  I think the movie was interesting, but I didn't think it was that exciting and the characters weren't that appealing.  My favorite part is when Arrietty rescues her mom. 

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!  I had a Valentine's Day party at school.  Everybody passed out cards.  I also made candy flowers.  What was so cool was my teacher gave out to everybody a small stuffed bear!  At the end of the day, a parent came in to read a book to the class.  I had such a fun day.  I hope all the people I love had a great day too.

A Real Tea Party!

My friend had a birthday party at a place called Four Seasons for Afternoon Tea.  I had to dress a little fancy, so I wore a black dress, a purple bracelet and earrings, and black sandals.  My mom did my nails and straightened my hair.  The food was really good.  We ate crumpets, chocolate, fruits, and biscuits. Instead of tea, I had cocao.  I had lots of fun.

My Very Own Bed!!!

I finally got my own bed!  I used to sleep with my sister, but now I have enough room to move around.  My bed has two drawers, and you can pull out part of the bed and make it into two beds.  It'll be great for sleepovers!  My mom and dad worked on it for a long time.  Here are pictures of it.

Lulu and the Brontosaurus

This book is about a little girl named Lulu who usually gets whatever she wants.   In the book she wants a brontosaurus as a pet.   Her parents say no.  She gets so mad that she decides to leave and find a brontosaurus herself.  She goes into a forest and she sings a very loud song.   She disturbs a snake, a tiger, and a big bear.  She threatens them to leave her alone.   All of them go away.   Later on in the book she finally meets a brontosaurus and makes him her pet.  Then he makes Lulu his pet.   Lulu decides that they should just be friends.  Every now and they would play with each other in the forest.  Lulu learns that she can’t always get what she wants.  She goes back to her family and learns that she has to be nice to her parents.

My favorite part was when she threatens the tiger to leave.  She says to the tiger that she will bump him on the head if he did not move out of the way.  He said he is not scared of her.  So she bumped him on the head.  That is my favorite part.  The picture was really funny.

Happy Chinese New Year's!

      New Year's is over, but Chinese New Year's is still going on.  For this year, Chinese New Year's Day is on Jan. 23.  The celebrations last for about 2 weeks.  This year is the Year of the Dragon.  In twelve years it will be the Year of the Dragon again.  It goes in a cycle.  I was born in the Year of the Horse. 
      Today I went to Chinatown and watched the lion dance.  It was so loud from the beating of the drums and fire crackers that I could not hear what my mom was saying.  It was really fun but loud.  My mom got to take some good pictures.  Here are a couple pictures and the Chinese Zodiac.  Find out what animal you are.

My Bunny Pinch Pot

A couple days ago I had art class.  I started making a pinch pot out of clay. A pinch pot is made out of clay and is pinched into a form of a pot. You also can form it into a cup or a bowl.  I made two small pinch pots and made it into a jar.  Anyways I think my pot turned out really good.  The next time I had art class I started adding in details to my pot to make it a animal.  I decided to make it a bunny.  This is my sketch.
